10/21/2012: as of this afternoon, the water pot has died. I used it to boil an average of one pot of water a day or less. I tried plugging it in to other outlets, cleaning the contacts, it still doesn't work. Needless to say I will not be buying another as this one lasted only eight months, and I will go back to heating water in the microwave or on the stove.
